Another 2 hours of heavy snow

The area of heavy snow will continue to pummel the area through 6pm to 630pm, with an additional 2 inches likely. Could see brief periods of 2 inch per hour snowfall rates with visibility under a half mile. Take it very slow if you are traveling this evening.

So far 5 inches on the ground, so generally a total of 7 to 9 is expected here. The snow will be very dry with water content likely under .5". Heaviest snowfall will occur between the Mass Pike and the MA/CT border where total accumulation could exceed one foot.

Stay tuned - first threat map for major nor'easter will be issued later tonight.
