As expected, models go north - more snow for Thursday

As I had suggested yesterday, the NAM has taken a huge jump north, along with the rest of the guidence to where the consistent GFS has been hanging out all this time. Generally expecting QPF of .4 to .5 in a quick shot 3pm through midnight Friday. The inconsistency in the rest of the guidence is sufficient enough for me to think there is potential for even more, but at this point will stay conservative considering still some transitioning going on. Temperatures will allow for high snow ratios, but not as great dendric growth as further south. There is also potential for a period snow rates up to 2 inches per hour! The evening commute could be very hazardous.

Final snowfall forecast for tomorrow evening: 5" - 8" with maximum accumulations near the MA turnpike where up to a foot of snow could fall.

Those hoping for some time away from school however probably wont get it considering the timing of the event - just late enough to avoid early release, and ends too early even for a delay (unless we can pull off more than 8 inches).

STAY TUNED - First in depth look at superstorm potential Sunday coming up within the next hour.
