A Tale of Two Storms

Two systems, both now exhibiting tropical characteristics, will dump copious amounts of rain on the region Friday morning through Sunday morning. All model guidence at least agree on widespread 1.5"+ rainfall across SNE. I am still confident in my forecast of 1.5" to 2.5" in Keene, and I believe someone in eastern New England will be looking at 6"+ in their rain gauge come Sunday morning.

The exact evolution of the two systems is still uncertain, and continues to range considerably in the forecast models. The tropical system near the Dominican Republic shows potential for development once it moves to the east of the Bahamas. The NHC has noted the system off the Carolina coast as an area of interest. It is showing signs of organization, however because of its current environment and continued indication of frontal boundaries, I think it will at most become a strong subtropical storm.
