Welcome to Meteorological Spring

March 1st marked the start of meteorological spring. Astronomical spring begins on the 20th (the Vernal Equinox). To make reanalysis easier, the seasons are defined by months: Winter = December, January, February (DJF) and Spring = March, April, May (MAM).

So with that, here is a quick recap of the meteorological winter of 2008-9.
