KHS Graduation Forecast

Chance of Outdoor Graduation: 60%

Discussion:

Periods of heavy rain are expected through late this evening and tonight. Low pressure is currently slowly approaching from the west and will still be sitting over southern New England tomorrow afternoon. A strong low level jet from the south over the region with precipitable water levels around 1.3" to 1.5" through midnight will support moderate to occasionally heavy rain across New England. The main forcing for this rain should move east of the area by early tomorrow morning and as the 700mb low passes over us, drier air in the mid levels will shut off organized precipitation. However, with cyclonic flow still embedded over New England, clouds and the threat for scattered showers and drizzle will remain through the afternoon. If there is strong enough dry air advection, it is not impossible for a few peaks of sun toward tomorrow evening.

An update will be issued later tonight.
