TD 8 remains at Tropical Depression status as it has been struggling against the SAL. Intensification should begin soon and TD 8 is forecasted to reach hurricane status by day 3. The track is uncertain for TD 8. The latest forecast model runs have reached a consensus on a left turn around day 5 and while the NHC forecast takes 08L to the northwest around days 3 to 4, it also turns it back to the west-northwest by day 5. This needs to be monitored closely, as it could indicate that a US strike is possible.
Scattered rain showers are beginning to move through the region. The showers through tonight will remain scattered in nature, however by later tomorrow morning, steadier rain will begin to move in from the south and west. rain could fall heavy at times through Thursday Night with a chance for thunderstorms into early Friday. Showers are expected to continue through the day Friday before tapering off Friday evening. Total rainfall is expected to be between half an inch to an inch.
Warm weather will follow the storm system as it pulls out early Saturday. Highs will reach the upper 70s to low 80s under sunny skies Sunday into Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday of next week, a very intense cold front is forecasted to cut through the region which could bring heavy rain and thunderstorms. Much cooler weather will then follow.
