Final snow and ice forecast

Still model discrepencies to work out. 00z NAM dumped 1.5 to 1.75 QPF on the area, but the 06z has gone back down to 1.00 to 1.5 since then. Still a little bit of a northward trend, so seeing more chance of sleet or even some freezing rain on Monday.

Timeline:
Radar returns have already begun overspreading the area, however dry air at the surface will hold off any precipitation until afternoon. Expect light snow to begin developing in the afternoon. Any accumulation through 7pm will be light. Clouds along with continual evaporational cooling will keep highs down in the low 20s today!

Steadier snow will move in around 10pm and could become heavy by 12am. Temperatures will remain steady at the surface, however WWA aloft will send the 850mb temps approaching freezing. QPF of .05 to .15 is likely, and snow ratios should be at 14:1 or 15:1 in the evening with CAD remaining strong. Count on 1 to 2 inches by 1am.

Snow begins to mix with sleet after 1am. WWA aloft will allow sleet to mix in with snow and could even change to mostly sleet for a brief time. This period could feature the heaviest precipitation with QPF .5 to .65, however sleet will prevent any major accumulations from occuring. Snow/sleet ratios (brought down by sleet) will range from 8:1 to 9:1. Snow and sleet accumulation 4 to 5 inches by 7am.

(((At 5am, decision making time for the superintendent, we'll have 4 to 6 inches of snow on the ground, with snow, sleet, or freezing rain beginning to fall at the time. Definite grounds for a delay, but cancellation could be a little more borderline. Snow and ice will continue to fall through the morning, and the forecasted intensity of precipitation during this time will be the key.)))

Snow, sleet, and freezing rain will be falling in the morning hours. Meanwhile, low pressure will begin to bomb out over Cape Cod. This will cut off WWA, and allow colder air to take over aloft. At the surface, temperatures will slowly rise to a late morning high in the mid 30's, before taking a tumble towards evening. QPF will be lightening up, .25 to .4 through Monday Night, and snow ratios will being increasing as the day goes on. Expect another 2 to 3 inches of snow through Monday Evening, with possibly a .1 inch of icing from early morning freezing rain.

Totals:
Snowfall for 12z Sunday through 12z Tuesday: 7" - 10"
Ice accumulation for 12z Sunday through 12z Tuesday: .1"

My last map forecast will be my final for the storm.
