High pressure in control for tomorrow and Friday. Skies will be sunny with high temperatures rising into the upper 50's tomorrow and mid to upper 60's on Friday.
Short wave trough will swing a cold front south Saturday afternoon. An increase in clouds will accompany the disturbance, and there's a slight chance of some sprinkles or a scattered shower in the afternoon. Despite the clouds, highs will still make it up to around 60.
Skies will be partly to mostly sunny on Sunday, however notably cooler temperatures will arrive behind the cold front, with 850mb temperatures falling back to around -2C, supporting highs in the low 50's.
Low pressure will be gathering strength in the Mississippi River valley during the day Sunday and will turn north toward the Great Lakes on Monday. Model guidance is in good agreement on a wet senario for the northeast US Monday through Tuesday. Due to a dry atmosphere to start, the onset of precipitation will likely be delayed until Monday afternoon. Elevated instability on Tuesday may support some thunder.
Trough takes hold of the east for the middle of next week, with temperatures 5 to 10 degrees below normal. Clouds will probably stick around through Wednesday, clearing for the end of the week.
