Most places in southern New England woke to beautiful blue skies this morning courtesy of a dry northwest wind in the mid levels. There is some valley fog with dew points in the low 60's, however that should burn off with daytime heating. Already temperatures are up around 70 across the region. Over New York state, clouds have overspread the area as a result of the upper low continuing to interact with the region. There are a few scattered showers over upstate New York, Vermont and Quebec, but these should dissipate as the morning progresses. However expect the cloudiness to build in across New England this afternoon and assisted by building instability, we will see another round of showers and thunderstorms develop. The clouds and any showers should keep high temperatures from reaching much higher than the mid 70's.
