GALE WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR ALL WATERS FOR WEST TO NORTHWEST
WIND GUSTS OF 35 TO 45 KNOTS. THE STRONGEST WIND GUSTS WILL OCCUR
TONIGHT. IN ADDITION A HEAVY FREEZING SPRAY WARNING IS IN EFFECT
FOR LATE TONIGHT.

GALE WARNINGS CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY FOR GUSTS TO 45 KNOTS AND
WILL LIKELY NEED TO BE EXTENDED INTO TUESDAY NIGHT. A HEAVY
FREEZING SPRAY WARNING CONTINUES FOR TUESDAY.

A CLIPPER IS FORECAST TO MOVE EAST OFF THE MIDDLE ATLANTIC COAST
WEDNESDAY EVENING. LATEST FORECASTS SUGGEST SOME LIGHT SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE NEAR THE SOUTH COAST. HOWEVER...THE
TRACK OF THIS STORM IS STILL UNCERTAIN.

A PERIOD OF MARGINAL NORTHWEST GALES IS POSSIBLE LATE WEDNESDAY
NIGHT AND THURSDAY AS ANOTHER SURGE OF ARCTIC AIR MOVES INTO THE
REGION.

AN ARCTIC COLD WILL MOVE THROUGH SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING. SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS AND LOCALIZED HEAVIER SNOW
SQUALLS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ALONG THE FRONT.

THE SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS AND LOCALIZED HEAVIER SNOW SQUALLS
ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE...WESTERN
MASSACHUSETTS AND CONNECTICUT BETWEEN NOON AND 3 PM. THE ACTIVITY
WILL RACE EAST AND INTO RHODE ISLAND AND EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS
BETWEEN 3 AND 6 PM.

THE SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO BE HIT OR MISS AND THEY SHOULD NOT
LAST LONG IN A GIVEN LOCATION. HOWEVER...BRIEF LOCALIZED SNOW SQUALLS
ACCOMPANIED WITH GUSTY WINDS WILL BE CAPABLE OF DROPPING
VISIBILITIES TO UNDER ONE QUARTER OF A MILE AND CREATING BRIEF WHITE
OUT CONDITIONS. THEY MAY ALSO DROP A QUICK COATING TO 1
INCH OF NEW SNOW ACCUMULATION...WITH POSSIBLY SOME 2 INCH AMOUNTS IN
THE HIGHER TERRAIN.

MOTORISTS PLANNING TRAVEL THIS AFTERNOON AND PARTICULARLY DURING THE
EVENING RUSH HOUR SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR LOCALIZED HEAVY SNOW SQUALLS WHICH
MAY RESULT IN BRIEF WHITE OUT CONDITIONS AND QUICKLY CAUSE ROADS TO
BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY.

AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL BRING STRONG WINDS TO SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND
TONIGHT. AHEAD OF THIS FRONT WEST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 15 TO 25 MPH
TODAY...WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH THIS AFTERNOON.

AFTER THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH LATE TODAY AND EARLY THIS
EVENING...WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE NORTHWEST AND INCREASE TO 20 TO
35 MPH WITH A FEW GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH POSSIBLE AS THE ARCTIC AIR
POURS INTO THE REGION.

A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE
31 TO 39 MPH OR GUSTS WILL RANGE BETWEEN 46 AND 57 MPH. WINDS
THIS STRONG ARE CAPABLE OF DOWNING SMALL TREE LIMBS AND
BRANCHES...POSSIBLY CAUSING ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES. DRIVING CAN

WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY
MORNING.

AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL DELIVER A BITTER COLD AIRMASS TO SOUTHERN
NEW ENGLAND TONIGHT AND TUESDAY. TEMPERATURES WILL FALL TO BETWEEN
ZERO AND 5 BELOW TOWARD DAYBREAK TUESDAY. THIS BITTER COLD COMBINED
WITH SUSTAINED NORTHWEST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WILL RESULT IN
DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS OF 20 TO 30 BELOW ZERO FOR SEVERAL
HOURS LATE TONIGHT AND TUESDAY MORNING.

TEMPERATURES ON TUESDAY ARE ONLY EXPECTED TO BETWEEN 5 AND 10
DEGREES. GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL CONTINUE WHICH WILL KEEP WIND
CHILLS WELL BELOW ZERO ALL DAY.

A WIND CHILL WATCH IS ISSUED WHEN THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR WIND
CHILLS TO FALL TO -25 DEGREES OR COLDER FOR AT LEAST 3 HOURS. A WIND
CHILL INDEX BELOW -30 CAN BRING ON FROSTBITE IN AS LITTLE AS 10
MINUTES. OUTDOOR EXPOSURE SHOULD BE LIMITED IN THESE CONDITIONS.
